Prayer Ministy - Find out all about prayer here at St Martin's

What is prayer?

Prayer is meeting God – maybe entering into a relationship with God, communicating with him.

Christians believe that human beings aren’t an accident, just here by chance. God made us, and loves us, and wants a relationship with us. He made us as whole beings, with body, mind and spirit. Today we have many ways of keeping in touch with those who are close to us, those whom we love. We have telephones, email, letters, cards and even old fashioned face to face communication. By communicating we can tell people how we feel and share our lives with them. This principle applies to our relationship with God and it is through prayer that we can do this.

How can I pray?

Everyone is different, unique and communicate in different ways. There is no right or wrong way in praying. Praying is like talking to your best friend! It’s easy to talk to someone when you know they love you unconditionally! You need to find out what works for you. Pray as you can, not as you can’t.

At St Martin’s we believe that prayer is as vital as breathing so in all that we do whether it be a social event a church meeting or a simple get together we go to God in prayer.

We hold informal prayers at the following times to which everyone is welcome.

Second Tuesday of every month 7.00pm - Prayer Meeting - Venue varies
Second Sunday of every month 12.00pm - Prayer Ministry after the service
